Designer:

The Designer was born in London to Polish parents and moved to Bristol over ten years ago. She was brought up to the steady refrain of her mother’s machines purring through custom high fashion ladies wear. She was introduced to sewing at a very early age.

She started sewing very early, initially making outfits for her beloved stuffed toy rabbit named ‘Kowik’, or ‘Wabbit’ in English. Later, having developed a keen interest in fashion, she started drawing upon this skill to upcycle and make

original items for herself; using it as both a creative outlet and means of self-expression. Sewing has always been a skill that she has always drawn up throughout life.

It wasn’t until the birth of her smallest little, also coincidentally nicknamed Kowik, that true submersion into the life of dressmaking came, and developed at a furious pace. Shop offerings (unless hunted through with a significant amount of dedication) seemed to offer gender specific items, in generic cuts from dull fabrics. She became driven to find glorious, gender neutral, designer fabrics from which to craft items which were not only comfortable, but easy to wear and beautiful on the eye. Patterns developed and used, focused on unique additions not found on the high-street, such as cloth friendly cuts and grow with me designs.

Her 2017, her items were awarded the ‘Let Clothes be Clothes’ Award in recognition of their gender-neutral ethos.
