I walk alone in the same places by the sea, over and over. The feeling is one of being part of that place, of solitude and immersion. I imagine myself flying over the sea and the salt marshes and looking down at the colours and shapes of water, sand, stones and birds flying and the constant changes in the inter-tidal zone. Drawing and painting have that same feeling of solitude and immersion. They help me recall those times of losing myself in a place. Each painting is a memory of the feeling of a walk.
